Coffs Harbour Weather

Coffs Harbour weather is nothing short of perfect. There is more sunshine in Coffs than areas in the south, but less humidity than areas in Queensland. This semi-tropical climate of the area makes this the absolute perfect vacation location throughout the year.

Coffs Harbour weather is marked with hot, wet summers (around 25- 27C) and cool, dry winters (around 19C).

It is easy to understand why vacationers would come here any time they want to get away, and why so many people want to live in Coffs Harbour when they retire! The weather is awesome!

June to October is traditionally whale watching season. Muttonbird Island is an incredible place to witness the migration of humpback whales as they head north or south depending on the timing.

In late August be mesmerised by the thousands upon thousands of mutton-birds as they fly in from the South Pacific. The easy hike to the top of the Island is worth a lifetime of memories just to take in the ocean and coastal views. Witnessing the migrations is an added bonus! Just do not forget your camera and maybe a few long-range lenses’ to bring the beauty closer into view from the top of the Island.

Peak visitor periods
The peak summer season in the Coffs is from mid to late December through the end of January. During the period of the children’s summer school break, accommodations may be a little harder to come by, however, they are available. The safety patrols on the beaches provide extra eyes toward the water, in the unlikely event that anyone gets in “over their heads”. There are also surfing competitions, scuba diving and snorkelling classes available and the abundant nightlife is friendly, fun and relaxing.

There are plenty of water and land activities to keep you busy during December and January. Christmas and New Year’s Celebrations are plentiful. Just imagine yourself sitting on the beach as the first dawning light of the New Year peaks across the Pacific. What an incredible way to ring in the New Year!

Sub-tropical weather conditions make Coffs a wonderful place to visit any time of year. Therefore, regardless of what time of year you choose to explore the pristine coastline of Coffs Harbour, you can bet that you will want to visit time and time again. Coffs Harbour Australia has a magnificent coastline that stretches approximately 90km through very differing landscape.
